Once this phone conversation has happened, you will receive access to your application for your first dwelling in the Certemy software. The Certification Reviewer assigned to your organization will determine when you can move forward with the other applications. You will submit one application for each address/dwelling your organization operates. All dwellings must meet the minimum requirements for your organization to become WVARR certified. Once you have completed the above steps and submitted the required information in Certemy, WVARR staff will review your professional profile and contact recovery residence you within 5 business days.

Recovery Residence Trainings

Understanding Recovery Residences Levels

Oxford House’s uniquely peer-supportive model has a long record of requiring its houses to meet high-quality standards. They are alcohol and illicit substance-free recovery housing that utilize house rules and peer accountability to maintain safe and healthy living environments. Senior residents, appointed by the owner/operator to serve as the head of household, are typically called the House Manager. A Level III certified recovery residence offers higher supervision by staff with formal training to ensure resident accountability.

Board Certified Programs
They are responsible for household chores and attending a weekly house meeting. At the house meeting, weekly activities are reviewed, concerns are discussed, goals are set, chores are assigned, etc. Typically, the average stay at a recovery residence in Maine is above 6 months, depending on the resident’s progress. Effective July 1, 2022, if a recovery residence receives government housing support of any kind, it must attain MARR-certification. WVARR staff will send you a formal communication if we have any questions or require you to submit additional documents with your application. You will receive a WVARR Policy Review Report pertaining to your Administrative Review and corresponding documentation and may be required to make changes or updates based on our review before moving to the next phase of the process. We follow the National Alliance for Recovery Residences (NARR) Standards and Code of Ethics, ensuring accountability to high-quality, recovery-oriented housing. While some levels may be more peer-supportive than others, residents are best served by choosing the level that aligns with their personal recovery needs.
Recovery Residence Certification

Graduates often become recovery residence administrators, program directors, house managers, or compliance officers for sober living and transitional housing programs.
